Launched in 2021 by Gen Next Education, g2 was created to transform how university admissions and recruitment professionals connect with international high school counselors and IECs. The name g2 is derived from globalED gathering, reflecting its original vision: a space designed to foster deep, lasting relationships and meaningful opportunities to help create future-ready students.

Today, g2 encompasses both in-person events and an interactive online platform, offering a dynamic ecosystem for collaboration and professional growth.

g2 Experience, our signature in-person gathering, goes beyond a traditional conference—this curated, offsite event fosters deep connections through strategic networking, professional development, and interactive workshops in an engaging, collaborative setting.

g2 Virtual, our annual online gathering, was intentionally made free to ensure accessibility for every university representative, high school counselor, and IEC worldwide. This event brings the global community together for expert-led sessions and seamless networking.

g2 Dialogues are exclusive, small-group events hosted at local high schools, providing a more intimate setting to strengthen counselor relationships and engage ambitious students in key markets.

Beyond collaborative events, g2 also features the g2 Community and the g2 Academy, innovative tools designed to support higher education institutions and counselors in building and maintaining strong professional relationships. Through institution-counselor matching, knowledge sharing, and a customizable university Resource Center, g2 helps institutions and counselors navigate the growing complexities of international education.

With a mission to strengthen global connections and empower professionals, g2 is more than just a movement—it’s a platform shaping the future of student mobility and institutional collaboration.

Reflecting on my fourth g2, I'm filled with gratitude and pride for being part of this impactful event. The University of Mississippi's sponsorship exemplifies our mission of transforming lives, communities, and the world, aligning perfectly with Gen Next Education's vision of driving access to global education. As I continue my own journey in learning about the dreams, needs, and motivations of students from South Asia, along with the successes and challenges faced by high school counselors and IECs, I am constantly thinking about how universities like mine can support and assist in efforts to provide global experiences to every student. As such, I found the panel sessions informative and relevant for all participants, and the authentic opportunities to connect will surely evolve into transformative partnerships that will bring knowledge, value, and inspiration to students and ultimately bend their destinies. I encourage fellow SIOs and university leaders overseeing international admissions and recruitment to participate in future g2s. The genuine opportunities to shape global education through connection, learning, and collaboration are not just aspirational - they are tangible and achievable at the g2.
